The rivaALVA Explorer Overland allows for the sterile filtering of service water for camping vehicles—whether at a campsite abroad with uncertain water quality or during off-road trips using water from rivers and lakes.

In this process, the water is treated by two different filters: first by an activated carbon filter with a 20-micron pore size („RIVA Life“) and then by a hollow fiber filter with 0.2 microns („RIVA Multi“). The latter reliably removes even bacteria such as Legionella or E. coli—the water subsequently possesses the highest drinking water quality.
Despite this, the water flow rate is remarkably high—I fill my 100 l water tank in the Hymer Grand Canyon S in about 10 minutes at approx. 1 bar water pressure at the pump, corresponding to a flow rate of approx. 10 l/min. When pumping water in off-road terrain, a coarse filter on the pump is important to prevent large particles from clogging the filters.
All in all, an excellent investment in the self-sufficiency of traveling with a motorhome or camper.
