Description

The rivaALVA-S Jova EM filter cartridge is a sintered 10 µm activated carbon block filter, enriched with EM ceramic powder during manufacturing (sintering process). An additional integrated high-tech membrane with a 1.5 µm filter fineness and special nanofibers for electro-adsorption reliably retains bacteria and viruses.

EM stands for Effective Microorganisms. For the production of EM ceramic, a specially fired clay is used, which contains organic material from plants millions of years old, serving as food for the Effective Microorganisms (EM) during the several-month fermentation process. Among other things, EM ceramic reduces the surface tension of water and decreases cluster structures.

The filter cartridge is food-safe and made in Germany.

Pollutant Retention

Pollutant retention is achieved through the following principles:

1. Particles larger than the filter pores are retained due to the 1.5 µm filter fineness. Based on this mechanical action, for example, suspended solids, rust particles, and microplastics are retained.
2. Through catalytic action, certain substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds can be transformed. They no longer exist in their original form.
3. Further pollutants can be absorbed through adsorptive action. They adhere directly to the activated carbon and remain there. Thanks to the adsorptive effect, organic compounds such as pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, heavy metals such as lead and copper, medicinal residues, hormones, and taste-impairing substances can be retained.
4. Electro-adsorption retains bacteria and viruses such as Legionella, germs, pathogens, microorganisms, pseudomonads, E. coli, enterococci, and many more.

Service Life

For this product, we recommend changing the cartridge every 4 months. The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). Depending on water quality, especially with noticeably reduced water flow, a filter cartridge change may be necessary at shorter intervals.
